Chapter Service & Philanthropy
Commitment to service is one of the most important things involved in being a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Being involved in the community and helping the world, together, tightens the bonds of sisterhood and allows us to become more balanced women.
Theta sisters volunteer at dozens of places over the year, with each sister fulfilling a personal commitment of over 24 hours a year towards the community.
Past and present sisters have volunteered their at the Refugee Center, packing food at the Cleveland Foodbank, tutoring at Church of the Covenant, providing medical aid through Global Medical Brigades, and more.
Every year we hold two philanthropy events, as well as a "Be-the-Match" bone marrow drive.
Our fall philanthropy event is KATwalk, which raises money and awareness for our national philanthropy, Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA. This year, our chapter, Eta Pi, was able to raise over $3200 for CASA! Kappa Alpha Theta has always been for the Child, and we were glad to give toward such a worthy cause!
Our 2015 spring philanthropy event, Bump, Set, Kite, raised money for the Theta Foundation, which helps fund education for leading women around the world.
We are excited to announce that our new 2016 Spring Philanthropy event is now Child Neglect Awareness Week. This will include a series of activities throughout the week to raise awareness for CASA and donate any money for the cause as well.
